Bistable nanomagnet as programmable phase inverter for spin waves

چکیده

To realize spin wave logic gates programmable phase inverters are essential. We image with phase-resolved Brillouin light scattering microscopy propagating waves in a one-dimensional magnonic crystal consisting of dipolarly coupled magnetic nanostripes. demonstrate shifts upon single nanostripe opposed magnetization. Using micromagnetic simulations we model our experimental finding wide parameter space bias fields and vectors. find that low-loss inversion is achieved, when the internal field oppositely magnetized tuned such latter supports resonant standing mode odd quantization number at given frequency. Our results key for realization optimized signal transmission.

Unidirectional Transition Waves in Bistable Lattices.

We present a model system for strongly nonlinear transition waves generated in a periodic lattice of bistable members connected by magnetic links. The asymmetry of the on-site energy wells created by the bistable members produces a mechanical diode that supports only unidirectional transition wave propagation with constant wave velocity. We theoretically justify the cause of the unidirectionali...

Spin-polarized current switching of a Co thin film nanomagnet

A thin film Co nanomagnet in the shape of an elongated hexagon has been incorporated in a vertical device structure consisting of the nanomagnet and a thin Cu spacer layer formed on top of a thick Co film. The spin-polarized current flowing between the nanomagnet and the Co film is used to abruptly switch the magnetic alignment of the nanomagnet relative to that of the thick Co layer by the tra...

Coherent control of nanomagnet dynamics via ultrafast spin torque pulses

We demonstrate reliable manipulation of the magnetization dynamics of a precessing nanomagnet by precisely controlling the spin transfer torque on the subnanosecond time scale. Using a simple pulse shaping scheme consisting of two ultrafast spin torque pulses with variable amplitudes and delay, we demonstrate coherent control over the precessional orbits and the ability to tune the switching pr...

Existence of traveling waves for Lipschitz discrete dynamics. Monostable case as a limit of bistable cases

We study discrete monostable dynamics with general Lipschitz non-linearities. This includes also degenerate non-linearities. In the positive monostable case, we show the existence of a branch of traveling waves solutions for velocities c ≥ c+, with non existence of solutions for c < c+. We also give certain sufficient conditions to insure that c+ ≥ 0 and we give an example when c+ < 0. We as we...

Domain-wall induced phase shifts in spin waves.

We study the interaction between two important features of ferromagnetic nanoparticles: magnetic domain walls and spin waves. Micromagnetic simulations reveal that magnetostatic spin waves change their phase as they pass through domain walls. Similar to an Aharonov-Bohm experiment, we suggest to probe this effect by splitting the waves on different branches of a ring. The interference of mergin...
